Unbroken Reins

On the vast Kazakh steppe, a young boy named Nurzhigit finds joy and purpose in caring for horses, following a path deeply rooted in tradition. As his father grapples with the tension between preserving this way of life and preparing his son for an uncertain modern future, the father must confront what it truly means to choose a child’s path. Through intimate moments of daily life, the film explores generational hopes, identity, and the universal struggle between holding on and letting go.
